Everglades Region PCA is turning 20 years old this year. To celebrate, we have organized a 2-day, member event that you will not want to miss.
It all takes place November 3rd and 4th at the Seminole Casino and Hotel in Immokalee. The festivities begin at 5pm on Friday with a cocktail reception followed by dinner. The highlight of the evening will be our after dinner, guest speakers:
Brian Redman, the successful English racing driver will join us. Beginning in the 1960’s, Brian made 15 Grand Prix starts before turning his attention to sports cars. From Nurburgring, Spa, Monza, and the Targa Florio to Watkins Glen, Daytona and Sebring, Brian won them all in a variety of racing series. As a member of the 1969 Porsche factory team, he helped Porsche win the World Manufacturers Championship for the first time in the 908LH and 908/2. He then repeated this feat in 1970 with the 908/3 and awesome 917K. Brian and his wife reside in the Jacksonville area.
American born Bob Garretson, was owner and driver of a Porsche 935 race team that competed in the World Sportscar Championship and IMSA GT Championship. In 1981, Bob, Brian Redman and Bobby Rahal teamed up to win the 24 Hours of Daytona. Bob went on to win the 1981 World Endurance Championship for Drivers and retired shortly thereafter. He remains very active with Porsche enthusiasts and the brand. Bob and his wife are in the process of moving homes from California to Virginia.
As an added feature, we are working with The Rev’s Institute in Naples to have one of Brian Redmans’ race cars on display for our event.
