PCA Everglades Board Meeting

La Playa Beach and Golf Resort

President Carla Boggess called the meeting to order.
Present were Carla Boggess, Pete Chehayl, Bill Hutchens, Elizabeth Newton, Richard Newton, and Bonnie Woontner.
The minutes of the last meeting were approved with no additions or corrections.
The treasurer, Pete Chehayl reported a balance of just over $10,000 with the additional checks from the recent successful Sweet Liberty Sunset Cruise.
New Business:
Bill Hutchens reported that he is investigating performance-driving possibilities at the Immokalee Regional Raceway.
The Board approved the following tentative event schedule:

A. Key West May Getaway – May 30th to June 1st
B. Stan’s on Sunday- Goodland, Marco Island – June 29th
C. Da Ruma Restaurant- July 26th
D. August Barbecue – Host from the membership- Date to be determined by host.
E. Handsome Harry’s Bistro Dinner- September 27th
F. Campiello’s Social Hour – October 31st
G. Collier Museum Barbecue – November – Date to be determined
H. Christmas Party –The Strand – December 6th

The Board approved the hiring of Vivian Aiello of Seaside Strings as violinist for the Christmas Party at The Strand.
The Board appointed Gary Thompson to take over the job of Membership Chair.
The Board authorized Carla to appoint Cory Samuel as Newsletter Editor pending his acceptance of the position.
The new Membership Chair and new Newsletter Editor will begin these positions as of May 1, 2008.
The Board authorized Carla to order a supply of club shirts with collars and an embroidered logo. The shirts will be available for promotion at meetings and events.
