Autocross Enthusiasts Across South Florida Invade Buckingham Airfield

Buckingham Airfield Autocross Results

Autocross enthusiasts from across South Florida descended onto Buckingham Airfield on Sunday, October 13th to test their skills in the final Everglades Region PCA autocross of 2019. A near record entry of 50 cars tackled the historic, concrete runways in Lehigh Acres. Buckingham is always a favorite, thanks to the wide open facility and long lap times ….. unless you are one of the top drivers who hustle their cars around in under 60 seconds.

Darrin Disimo scored fast time of the day in both raw time (57.748 seconds) and adjusted PAX time (46.718 seconds). Never under estimate a Mazda Miata on an autocross course!

Joe Wright, behind the wheel of his Porsche GT3, recorded third fastest raw time, which also translated to second quickest PAX time. Good job Joe!

Five more Porsche drivers scored top ten raw times including:

Teddie Alexandrova – Cayman S (5th)
Rad Delgado – GT3 RS (6th)
Tom Kring – Cayman S (7th)
Steve Kidd – GT3 (8th)
Greg Hahn – 991 Turbo S (10th)

Special mention to Everglades Region member Mike Drake who hustled his 991 Carerra S into 10th place on PAX time.

If you are wondering which Porsche models are quickest around an autocross course, this list of cars gives you a pretty good idea. Oh yeah, the drivers are VERY good too.

The complete list of Raw and PAX results are posted on this website, egs.pca.org, under the Driving Events – Autocross tab. Scroll down to find the results section.

Stay tuned for the the 2020 Everglades Region autocross schedule …….. bring your Porsche out and experience what it was designed to do.
