EGR PCA Porsche-Themed 2018 Holiday Bash & Annual Meeting

EGR PCA Porsche-Themed 2018 Holiday Bash & Annual Meeting

Ninety Everglades Region PCA members and guests gathered the evening of December 8, 2018 at the Longshore Lake clubhouse in North Naples for a holiday party. The holiday party also serves as the club’s annual meeting to vote in the board of directors for the coming year and distribute awards.

Members with milestone membership anniversaries were recognized with a large sign. Notable anniversaries for currently active members included Chris & Jenny Branston (35 years), Jeff & Shari Rodgers (35 years), Ann Wardlow (30 years) and Bryan & Tara Roe (25 years). Stephen and Maxine Helgemo of Punta Gorda have been PCA members for 45 years!

President Dave Noelken presented awards to our most active members in 2018 based on attendance at a quantity and variety of Everglades Region PCA events. The “Get it Outta the Garage” award was presented to Scott Harle, Mary Jo & Mike Andrade and Elly & Hendrik Bloksma. The “Take a Lap” award was presented to the big trophy winners of the evening: Elly & Hendrik Bloksma and Mary Jo & Mike Andrade.

This year’s Social Chair, Becky-Grafer Harle, made a special effort to make sure the party reflected our love of Porsches. We had Porsche themed centerpieces featuring a model Porsche carrying a Christmas tree or with a bow on the hood surrounded by gifts. Drawings were held at each table to determine the lucky guests who got to bring the centerpiece home. Assigned seating with placecards and individual party favors rounded out the tables.

During the cocktail reception, we held a “feely bag” game. While enjoying a beverage and bacon-wrapped scallops, members had the chance to test their knowledge of Porsche parts. Ten random parts were in numbered fabric bags and players had to identify the parts by feel. Incredibly, three knowledgeable members tied for the win with 100% correct! Winners included Scott Eckel, Renee & Carlo Valvasori and Trace Taleck. Our Zone 12 Representative, Lisa Lewis, was on hand to present the awards.

Bill Colletti’s trio played after dinner and we all enjoyed their smooth music, complete with vocals and flugelhorn. Dance floor regulars Gordon Browne and Barbara Carne showed their moves. Yancey Brame and Amy Manley, decked out in red and green, also hit the dance floor and demonstrated some fabulous moves.

Hope all members are enjoying this holiday season! If you didn’t make it to the party, we missed you! Join us next year!
