Welcome to Everglades Region of the Porsche Club of America

Our region covers most of Southwest Florida including the counties of Charlotte, Collier, DeSoto, Glades, Hendry and Lee. We host over 800 members.

The Everglades Region is part of Zone 12 of the PCAz12-logo

The Everglades Region has a long history and strong commitments to PCA. Zone 12 which includes 9 regions encompassing most of Florida, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Zone 12 is also home to two of sports car racing’s most illustrious events, the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring. Sebring is also home to the first PCA Club Race of each year, the 48 Hours of Sebring. You will find us at our busiest when much of the country is spending their time inside, content to polish their Porsche’s while the winter winds blow.

The camaraderie in our Region comes from the diverse backgrounds of our members and their passion for the Porsche brand. From social events to autocross, road rally’s to car shows, we strive to offer a broad range of events where our members can engage around our beautiful cars. We encourage the sharing of information and PCA spirit in our Region and have created this website to enhance our communication and experiences with one another.

If you own a Porsche and are interested in joining our club please select the “Membership” link above and click on” Join Us” for the PCA Online application. Or if you prefer, you may contact our Membership Officer directly under “About Us”.

If you have a general question about PCA or need to contact the Everglades Region, you can send an email to: evergladesregionpca12@gmail.com . One of our officers will reply to you.

SCCA Solo Nationals Practice Day @ Buckingham Airfield
Aug 18 @ 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

The SCCA Solo Nationals is “the” premier event of the year in the world of Autocross. 1400 of the best drivers around the world come each September to Lincoln, Nebraska to vie for a National Championship title.

Here in Florida, each year, we host a practice day for those attending Nationals. This year, the practice event will be held at Buckingham Airfield (the venue for most of the Everglades region autocross events). This invitation only event is attended by a few dozen of the best autocrossers in the country coming from all over the south eastern part of the country.

If you are interested in getting involved (or more involved in autocross), this would be a great event to attend, to watch and learn from the experts. While you will NOT be able to DRIVE or RIDE along with any of the drivers, you can be thrilled by watching the best preparing for Nationals and maybe learn something too. Every driver in attendance will be more than happy to discuss the sport with you and provide driving tips between their practice sessions.

Should you like to attend, send an email to Tom Kring (mnymgr2001@yahoo.com) for more information and protocol.

This is not an Everglades Region PCA event

Werks Reunion
Aug 24 all-day

The popular Porsche show Werks Reunion will be headed back to the Corral de Tierra Country Club on August 24, 2018 near Laguna Seca Raceway, during Monterey Car Week. Porsche Club of America (PCA) welcomes all Porsche clubs, owners, and enthusiasts to join us at the fifth Werks Reunion in Monterey. Membership in PCA is not required to participate in this celebration of Porsche automotive engineering. Expect to view a breathtaking array of Porsches at this free-to-spectators event, from rare classics to current models and everything in between. Display your own cherished car in model-specific Porsche Corrals or enter the Porsche Judged Field and compete to win in more than 20 prize categories.

Werks Reunion was created by the Porsche Club of America as an event to celebrate both the Porsche marque as well as the camaraderie of being an enthusiast. This is not a contest of who has removed dust from the deepest crevices in their Porsche but rather a judged show that rewards a Porsche that has been lovingly maintained and presents itself well on the field. Our judges do not use Porsche Parade Concours score sheets but rather rank the cars according to certain attributes discussed prior to judging. For those who do not wish to have their cars judged, you may display in the model specific corrals or if the organizers see fit, on the judged field itself. There are no score sheets returned or protest committees. This is a casual gathering of Porsche enthusiasts focused on having fun rather than solely competition.

Tire Rack Street Survival School at Sebring
Sep 15 all-day

Suncoast Region PCA will be the local host for the national Tire Rack Street Survival (TRSS) school, during the September, Sebring DE weekend (Sept 15-16, 2018). As the official TRSS website says, “The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a ‘hands-on’ driving experience in real-world situations! It’s about more than driving – it’s about LIVING!”

The school is open to fully licensed drivers only, ages 16-21. If you have a teen who is already driving, he or she can benefit from attending this great driving school.

Also, if you’d like to help out and be an instructor, please contact TRSS coordinator John Sabatini (john.a.sabatini@gmail.com).

What: Tire Rack Street Survival® school

When: Saturday, September 15th, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Where: Sebring International Speedway

Cost: $95

Registration: https://www.motorsportreg.com/index.cfm/event/register.trss/uidEvent/FD1A624D-9953-56C6-0B88EC3D9D49556E

About TRSS:
The Tire Rack Street Survival® school is a safe teen driving program designed to go beyond today’s required driver education and give teens across the U.S. the driving tools and hands-on experience they need to become safer, smarter drivers. The school provides trained and qualified in-car driving instructors as well as a valuable classroom experience for each student.

This school is open to fully licensed drivers only, ages 16-21. Please note that Porsche Club of America (local host for this school) does not allow anyone under the age of 16 to participate. Drivers 16 years old and older who hold a valid learner’s permit or driver’s license that have no restrictions during the hours the school takes place are eligible to participate (i.e., if the participant is allowed to drive to and from the event without an adult required to be in the car with them).

The primary emphasis of the Tire Rack Street Survival® is a “hands-on” driving experience in real-world situations! We use your own car to teach you about its handling limits and how you can control them. The students will become more observant of the traffic situation they find themselves in. They will learn to look far enough ahead to anticipate unwise actions of other drivers. As the students master the application of physics to drive their cars, they will make fewer unwise driving actions themselves. They will understand why they should always wear their own seatbelts, and why they should insist that their passengers wear seatbelts, too.

It’s about more than driving – it’s about LIVING!

All Schools $95.
